Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy (“Policy”) applies to the Jetpack Studio Site (“Site”). This Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Jetpack Studio.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We collect information from you in various ways when you use our Site and Applications. We may collect personal information you directly provide on our Site. In addition, we may collect personal information from you as a user of our Applications. Information we may collect includes name and email address, and phone number. 

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Testimonials

We post customer testimonials on our web site which may contain personally identifiable information. We do obtain the customer’s consent via email prior to posting the testimonial to post their name along with their testimonial. If you wish to request that your testimonial be removed you may do so by contacting us.

Who we share your data with

We will always ask for your approval whenever they intend to transfer data outside Canada or the United States. The same rules apply when the data processors intend to subcontract part of the services you provide.

How we retain your data and know your rights

You will always have the following rights: Breach Notification, Right to Access, Right to Be Forgotten and Data Portability.

Breach Notification means that Jetpack Studio’s obligated to notify you about any possible security breach involving your personal information within the 72 hours of it happening.

  • The right to access provides you with complete transparency in data processing and storage – what data points are being collected, where are these data points being processed and stored, and the reason behind the collection, processing, and storage of the data. You will also be provided a copy of this data.
  • The right to be forgotten gives you an option to erase personal data, and stop further collection and processing of the data. This process involves withdrawing consent for your personal data to be used. You can contact us to ask to be forgotten.
  • The data portability clause of the GDPR provides you with the right to download your personal data, for which you have previously given consent, and further transmit that data to a different controller.

Choices about use of your information

We will not send you any emails without getting your consent for this. Even if you do give us your consent, you may “opt-out” of receiving promotional emails from Jetpack Studio. You may also send requests relating to promotional messages and your permission for sharing information with third parties for their marketing purposes by Opt-out requests will not apply to transactional service messages, including messages about your current Jetpack Studio account and services.

How we protect your data

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
 
Jetpack Studio takes reasonable security measures to protect your personal information to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Please be aware, however, that despite our efforts, no security measures are impenetrable.
 
If you use a password on our Site, you are responsible for keeping it confidential. Do not share it with any other person. If you believe your password has been misused, please advise us immediately.

Changes to this policy

Jetpack Studio may change this Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the “Last Updated” date above. If there are material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account). We encourage you to review this Policy whenever you visit our Site or use our Applications to understand how your personal information is used.
